The first post, here we go!

Again, my website is going to be in English, because I have friends from all over the place and the world is my playground (isn’t that the slogan of some company? Well it’s mine too).

This time I’m just going to stick with a good pre-programmed blog-program, like WordPress, instead of trying to weave my own, always changing the HTML every time. This is more practical, and probably more long-lasting. I’m trying to make it so that I won’t get bored of it after a short while and change. This is going to last. And this is for the future too. I’m planning on going to France next school-year to study and so I’ll blog some glimpses of my life there on this site. Sending mass e-mails about my adventures is a bit 2002-ish, right?

You might be wondering about the weird address of this site: hirondelle. Well, for those that don’t speak French and haven’t stood in a tight street in France and looked up at and wondered at these squeeking birds flying everywhere, the word hirondelle is the French word for a swallow (Icelandic: Svala). If you knew me well, you might see the connection between the migrating bird swallow and myself. It’s never long after I come back home from travelling that I get “the urge” to fly away and explore the world…
